Corey Corey: On Twitter, I am followed by friends, family and fanatics under the ID @BubblePOPPA but ANYwhere else, I am now known or billed as COREY COREY! Like most people will do behind closed doors, I take on “Corey Corey” as an alternate ego yet I’m very public with my provocative persona! I’ve transformed my “id” into an actual business that has me constantly juggling bookings all over.
UNTAMED: Explain to our readers, exactly what Corey Corey does? What are some of your talents?
C.C: COREY COREY is ultimately a performer or entertainer! His talents range from runway/art/print model to an infamous online identity to a male burlesque performer to nightclub host to nightlife photojournalist to certified bartender to certified massage therapist…and he’s successful at receiving bookings for ALL titles! Brooklyn is where I’m from but it was in Manhattan where I got my start at becoming “somebody” in nightlife. I won a few Big Dick contests at Webster Hall, Stonewall and The Cock – while wilding out and bar-hopping with buddies – and the late lead singer of The Velvet Mafia, Dean Johnson, saw me and immediately asked me to be a regular featured dancer inside his notorious Lower East Side parties called Magnum (where all go-go boys are guaranteed to be blessed with nine inches or more of impressive manhood). I knew people would be lining up to see gratuitous nudity, nonetheless, it was in this very party where I did my all to take my performances to another level by disguising myself in various “fantasy” costumes while performing choreographed dance numbers. My disguises were so intense my audience often mistook me for more than one dancer, and NEVER recognized me as I exited the club, afterwards. Word spread fast throughout NYC about the “three-legged Black male dancer” and next thing I know I was appearing at various NYC gay venues: Splash, g lounge, Eagle, Lure, Stonewall, The Hangar, The Hole and touring to places throughout AK, DC, NJ, PA and RI in all-male revues, which performed strictly for an all-female audience.
UNTAMED: With the recent surge of social media networks, nudity and even sex seems to be heading toward the “overrated” mark. How do you stay outside of being grouped with the “bathroom ass shot” self proclaimed internet celebrities?
Corey Corey: In 2001, I was randomly approached on Christopher Street by Lady Bunny who needed a dancer bold enough to “hold his own” next to a legend on stage; I had no idea this “gig” was the very last official Wigstock of NYC! There I was, shaking my double-digited ding-a-ling that was packed into a teeny-tiny, totally see-thru grey mesh thong onstage to Bunny’s “Schlong Song” (a parody of Sisqo’s “Thong Song”) while a sea of thousands cheered me on! Undisguised for the first time, I could see the faces of friends in the audience gasping as they watched me purposely plop all of my penis out in public for all to see! As soon as our unexpected performance was done E! TV grabs Bunny and I backstage for an interview and it was there, on the air, where I introduced both myself and my (bi)sexuality to the entire watching world! There was no turning back from that point; Corey Corey was born! From there, I’ve managed to take my persona and market myself a thousand times over within both the gay and straight communities. I went on to play Jimi Hendrix, the lead in an off-Broadway rock musical tour for over three years before landing roles in independent films such as RuPaul’s “STARRBOOTY” and LSD Films’ “Fluid” and “Recollection” – two films where both my physique and my unapologetic approach to sexuality were required in order to effectively employ myself into such roles. Because the word shy is not even in my vocabulary (anymore), I tend to attract tons of photographers, fashion designers and stylists willing to push envelopes or make bold statements. Just this past NYC Fashion Week, I walked the runway damn near naked, wearing feathers and lace fashions by Nico & Adrian. Just this past year, I became one of the faces used by the NYC Safe Sex Campaign (inside free safe sex packets located at various venues throughout NYC, COREY COREY can be found smirking devilishly on a trading baseball card, parodying Tiger Woods by leaning, shirtless, onto a golf club while sporting an enormous erection running alongside his left leg). I’ll often accept bookings to host or bartend at private swingers parties where I’m shirtless (or nude). Lately, however, it’s been my magic hands that keep me busy and booked. As a masseur, I’m regularly featured inside gay hotels and guesthouses (such as Belvedere, located in Cherry Grove-Fire Island) during the Summer. I also tour my share of erotic events, make appearances throughout tons of annual hedonistic scenes (such as the HustlaBall, XXXotica and Sybarite Awards). Since I’m also a certified personal masseur, my massage expertise has become my new way to market myself. I’ve been a masseur for years but never made it as known as it is today. Now, there isn’t a single masseur in all of Brooklyn who is regularly working on the same level as I…and that’s a fact! A fact, I’m damn proud of! Going back and forth between coasts with my massage, club and private performances plus hosting events has become the machine that is now known as COREY COREY!
UNTAMED: We know that you are openly bi-sexual, tell us (aside from the obvious) what you do give back to the community?
Corey Corey: I’m always looking for ways to give back to the communities that I call mine! Being a public figure allows me to do so. Twice, I’ve co-hosted (and auctioned off my own underwear) at Will Clark’s Porno Bingo inside Greenwich Village’s Pieces Bar where I’ve raised money for New York Gay Pool League and Braking the Cycle, an organization where those living with HIV compete in a bicycle marathon). I’m currently a proud member of The Brotherhood, a non-profit organization that raises money for homeless gay youths. Last year, I contacted Trojan Condoms as a spokesmodel for NYC’s Safe Sex Campaign and had them send me boxes of their Magnums, which I took to distribute throughout urban schools in Brooklyn and Queens while talking to the kids about safe sex practices. For years I massaged VIP inside the annual Banya Pool Party offering my bodywork nonstop during huge events such as Urban Bears’ Weekend and NYC Gay Pride! I even work as a nightlife photojournalist at the world’s largest queer online newspaper, EdgeOnTheNet.com, where travel/sports articles plus photos of all the hotspots I hit or travel to are published. And now that I am gaining more and more each day, I give back to my Twitter followers by massaging them half-off for any incall/outcall session.
